Stylish MEERA Fashion Dresses by NILOFER SHAHID

PAKISTANI FASHION DESIGNER NILOFER SHAHID  opens the portal to the subcontinent’s history through her various collections under the House of Meeras and has attained for herself the title of the ‘Runway Empress’ of Pakistan. Known as Nilofer Shahid to the world of haute couture, her redoubtable House of Meeras, meaning heritage, is at best, an immortalization of the past ensnared in her classical ensembles. Stylish Dresses for Women's by NIDA AZWER

PAKISTANI Fashion Designer NIDA AZWER atelier has come to be recognised for the designers’ love of more classic and vintage design elements infused with traditional crafts such as ‘tukri ka kaam’, ‘rilli’, ‘kantha’, ‘zardozi’ and ‘miniature embroidery’ worked into contemporary fashion. Indeed all clothing and apparel created under the Nida Azwer label is meticulously handworked in Pakistan using only pure fabrics including Irish linen, chiffons, hand-woven silks and brocade. The atelier is best known for infusing designs with attention to detail, innovative cuts, silhouettes and tailoring. 

In terms of showcases and exhibitions, in August 2010, Nida Azwer exhibited “The Silent Weave” collection, which brought to her design palette, one of the oldest weaves known to the artistic textile world, Jamdani that originates from the Bengali tradition. Since then Nida has showcased at three PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Weeks and at Fashion Pakistan Week to critical acclaim. Nida Azwer also presented her bridal wear collection entitled the ‘Awadh Court Collection’ at the PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week in December 2011, which marked the first instance where the designer brought her menswear collection to the ramp. Nida also showcased her “Chibhali Collection” at the PFDC L’Oreal Paris Bridal Week in October 2012. In 2011, Nida Azwer also showcased her collection entitled “The Running Stitch” at a charity fashion show to much appreciation. The unique collection incorporated the exquisite weave of ‘Kantha’, which stems from West Bengal, in florals and geometric motifs.  In July of the same year, Nida diversified her label by launching “Kids by Nida Azwer”, an exclusive line of formal prêt a porter for boys and girls from the ages of three months to twelve years, in addition to exhibiting a summer collection. 

2012 was a busy year for the label which presented a semi-formal collection titled “Parinda” at Showcase 2012 and launched a new prêt line “The White Label” in April of the same year. In May 2012, Nida Azwer also held her first solo exhibition in Lahore to much acclaim. In 2013, the Nida Azwer design label made a series of firsts with the introduction of their debut lawn collection in March and the launch of the brand’s first standalone stores in Lahore and Karachi in May 2013. A regular participant at all major fashion events, Nida Azwer showcased at the 6th PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week in April 2013 with “The William Morgan & Morris Collection”. Nida Azwer also introduced a new bridal collection in  October 2013 entitled “The Hyderabad Collection” in Lahore at Patnene Bridal Couture Week. 

The Nida Azwer atelier currently has two standalone flagships boutiques in Lahore on M M Alam Road Lahore and in Karachi at the Ocean’s Tower Mall as well as a couture studio in Karachi’s Defence. Internationally, the brand is available in Dehli at the PFDC, Dubai at Soiree, Ensemble Dubai and in London at Zainab Alam’s boutique.

The luxury brand label debuted in 2000 with the critically acclaimed millennium show in Lahore, Pakistan, the success of which brought with it an unprecedented amount of glitz and glamour. That year, Nickie Nina was invited to attend the MTV Awards in Delhi and to showcase at a group show under the aegis of Fashion TV International, in Bombay.

2001, 2002 and 2003 witnessed the brand hold exclusive Fashion shows at home and abroad. Their new collections were showcased in Lahore, Chicago, Orlando and Washington, where their collections were viewed by fashion impresarios and heads of state alike.
 
The year 2004 was a landmark for the label, having received their first nomination for the prestigious Pakistani Lux Style Awards, held in Dubai, in the best Bridal wear/couture category. Dubai. In February of 2004 they were invited to show at the Pakistani High Commission in London and to exhibit in New York, which they did to much acclaim. On their return to Pakistan, Nickie Nina opened their ready to wear Flagship store in their home city, Lahore in Pakistan, in the high profile shopping street, M.M.Alam.
 
The following year, in 2005 they showcased at the Presidency in Pakistan, an event organised for George Bush's visit to the country. They also held their first exhibition at Designer's Lounge in Dubai and in Houston.

In 2006, Nickie Nina was invited to show their collection to the Saudi Arabian royal family in Jeddah. Following the success of their first exhibitions, Nickie Nina also returned to exhibit in Dubai and Chicago.  2006 also marked the opening of their second outlet in Karachi Pakistan’s high end retail venue, Zamzama. 

Last year, Nickie Nina exhibited a collection in Dubai for a third time and to Orlando.  In September they exhibited in London and in October, they showed at Lakme India Fashion Week to critical acclaim. 2008 also witnessed the opening of their third retail space in Pakistan.

This year, Nickie Nina showed at multiple international fashion destinations including New York, LA, Chicago, the UK, Bahrain and in Dubai.  The label also held a charity fashion show in Pennsylvania, USA. Nationally, Nickie Nina brought to Pakistan their new brand label, Nickie Nina Designer Fabric to much acclaim in both Karachi and Lahore and showcased their fusion bridal collection in Lahore in winter 2008.
