Arshad Tareen has been synonymous with the fashion industry in Pakistan since the late 1980s and single-handedly brought the spot light on men's fashion in the country. He founded the iconic ‘Men's Club magazine in 1989, which not only catered to men but also created many a super model through his own photography for the publication.
His next foray into fashion publication was through Lines – a weekly newspaper encompassing everything to do with style and glamour. Lines also translated into a successful television show – Lines of Style.
In 2005, Arshad launched his clothing line for women, stocking at Labels and The Designers in Karachi . Self taught, but with an innate understanding of fashion, Arshad's eveningwear line is feminine and pretty – the label Jagsara is for the woman who loves to dress up. He says, ‘I design pretty clothes for women who LOVE clothes'.
Arshad hopes to introduce Jagsara into the international market and his first appearance at Karachi Fashion Week should prove to be an auspicious beginning in realising his dream.
